The text is about the US and its immigration history. Today it is called a nation of immigrants. But thousands of years ago, only Native Americans lived there. The famous railroad that we know today was built by immigrants from Japan and China who came in the middle of the 19th century. A lot of German people came to the US but some of them left because they were discriminated. When some of them stayed, they started a new life mainly in Pennsylvania but later they decided to start a new life in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. Ellis Island is known as a museum in New York today but in the past it was called "The Isle of Tears" because when immigrants wanted to go through, they had to prove their good health and they had to be able to write and read. When they could neither read nor write and didn‘t have a good health, they were sent back home. The people who wanted to immigrate into the US had a lot of problems since, in 1924, the US government passed "The Immigration Act“ and people from poorer countries weren‘t allowed to go to the US. Today, if people want to live in the US, they need a greencard which allows them to live and work in the US. People are given 50000 greencards all around the world each year, so there‘s a chance for everyone to immigrate to the US. 

Habe meine english lehrerin gefragt was der fehler bei einem meiner sätze ist. Sie hat mit mir sicher 5-10 min überlegt ob mein satz richtig ist oder nicht. Danach sagte Sie das Sie sich ein wenig Zeit nehmen wird und mir eine Mail schreibt wenn Sie herausfinded was das Problem hier ist. Der punkt wäre schon wichtig für mich weil ich dieses Semester noch einen 5.5 schnitt im englisch haben will (schweizer Noten)

They did that for about 5 times but I still don‘t know what they told about me. I only know that they didn‘t want to talk to me anymore after my classmates had told them something about me. Obviously, it had to be something bad that was the reason for not talking to me. On 1st December 2021, it was even worse the girls of my class came together and they formed a circle in which they talked about my and made prejudices. Yet I still don‘t know what they exactly told about me because I only heard my name for multiple times and while they were talking about me, they often looked at me. Therefore, I decided to ignore them until I would leave this school. It didn‘t matter what they said, I completely ignored them. Of course I couldn‘t ignore my teachers who were also mean to me but at least I didn‘t speak to my classmates. On 31st January 2022, I was finally allowed to leave that school and came to this school where I have been since then.“

Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, so in Georgia on 15th of January in 1929. He was an important person in the past since he was the leader of the African American civil rights movement and peace movement. He fought for the rights of both African Americans and white Americans after the civil war. Furthermore, he said that he had a dream and this speech has influenced the government of the U.S. because he wanted to reach the goal that every human should have the same rights. He organized a march on Washington to protest against the rights of blacks. He even won a nobel prize in 1964 as he did it that both African American and white Americans have had the same rights. Sadly, he was shot in the Lorraine hotel in Memphis on 4th of April in 1964 which is part of a American civil rights museum now. The Martin Luther King day is celebrated every third Monday in January now.

Aufgabe: Never mary someone your parents didn't approve of. Do you agree?

Living a life with full of love is maybe one of the most important things in life. Especially then, when you find your biggest love, the person with whom you want to spend the rest of your life. But in many cultures this doesn't work like that. For example in India, the parents get to decide who their child will marry. By that the question arises, if parents should approve a marriage. 

Firstly, a marriage doesn't just happen. If two people want to engage, they think about it. That's also the reason that some couples break up with each other. They realize that love doesn't mean mean the same for them, e.g. they think differently about love. Just like parents do. They come from a different timeline. Oftenly they're 20 to 30 years older than their child which leads to the matter of fact that their mindset is completely different, than their childs. By asking the parents for approve, you will not get a correct answer because you're the only one who knows, what's the best for you and who fits you the most. 

Secondly, as time goes on we get older. By that we have to take responsibility for our choices. In order to do that, we have to choose between things and decide. Marriage is such a choice. If somebody can't decide, wether he/she wants to marry its partner or not, then he has to rethink his/her love life, but asking the parents (or others) is immature because you do not take responsibility. If can't decide, then I'm not ready for marriage. 

To sum up, asking the parents for approval is wrong. It's only you who can make the right decision, who can decide, what's important for him/her and what's not and if she/he is really the right one.

Man schreibt ja "eislaufen", aber "Ski fahren"; daher bin ich etwas verwirrt, ob es so in Ordnung ist.

Mein Dozent schreibt das in eine Folie. Ich hätte es lieber umformuliert, aber sicherlich geht die Formulierung auch. Meine Frage bezieht sich also auf die Zeichensetzung und die Rechtschreibung. Schwierige Frage jedenfalls, freue mich auf Eure Antworten!!

Wohin kommt eigentlich das Wort ,,immediately“ im englischen Satzbau? Ich hab schon die zwei Varianten gesehen, dass es entweder vor das Vollverb kommt oder ganz ans Ende des Satzes. Was ist nun die richtige Variante oder ist das egal?

Ich habe jemanden einen schönen Abend gewünscht und ich habe "velada" verwendet für Abend. Er schrieb dann, dass er lachen musste und dass er dieses Wort nie verwendet weil es romantisch assoziiert wird?! Stimmt das?? Er meinte er sagt immer noche und nie velada, weil er unter velada einen romantischen Abend mit einer Frau versteht und er verwendet dieses Wort deshalb nie. Ist velada wirklich das Wort was man nutzt wenn es um einen romantischen Abend geht?

Is the environment important for your school?

Have you ever thought about the importance of the environment? Usually, schools don’t care enough about this topic, but it does not have to be like this. Our commercial college tries to make the world a better place.

Our school organizes several activities like collecting litter. Furthermore, we save energy by replacing light bulbs with energy-saving lamps and we turn off the heating and the lights when we don’t need them. Another important aspect is that we can visit some very interesting lectures about environmental change.

But it always sounds easier than it is in reality. We have to give up a lot if we want to succeed. We are not allowed to print out a lot of texts; we have to make sure that our computers are powered off if we don’t need them. I also have to mention that we try to make as few emissions as possible even when we go on a trip. For example, we try to avoid planes and prefer electric vehicles.

But we can never do too much for the environment. That is the reason why we should also care about it in our free time like I do. I only buy organic food, never drink from plastic bottles, and I do not wrap my food in plastic. Last but not least, our daily routine has to change too. Not every student can drive a car to school. We should use public transportation instead or found a carpool.

So, in conclusion, what are the key points to bear in mind if you want to save our planet? To sum it up, three things are important: don’t waste electricity, avoid plastic, and make use of public transportation. On the one hand, it is not always easy to live an eco-friendly life. On the other hand, it is worth it because we can all benefit from a healthy planet.

She showed me the airport and different cities. At first, we went to California where I explored different cities, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. I went to Disneyland there and it was so much fun. I also saw the Golden Gate Bridge with its fantastic view. I even saw real Native Americans on their reservations! They looked very friendly at me but I am also sorry for them that they have to live outside. I am very happy that I‘ve immigrated to the US. After exploring California, I went to New York where I have been living now since Wednesday. It‘s so cool here because when I came to New York, it was already late in the evening and because of the darkness, I went to Times Square since it is known for its bright lights. I went to a restaurant there where I ate the popular pizza slices and they tasted very delicious. After I had eaten, I was exploring Times Square while it was pretty dark and because of the bright lights of the advertisements, it was so gorgeous and I felt like it would be my home town so that I‘ve decided to stay here in New York forever. I live in an apartment in New York with my new friends as long as I don‘t have enough money to buy my own house. I work in the Empire State Building where I work as an official and I really like living here!“

They were forced to leave their home country by their parents because they wanted to start a new life and they were only teenagers, so they weren‘t allowed to decide whether they would stay in Kazakhstan or go to Germany. I was born in Germany and I can‘t speak Russian. I really like Germany because of the people but if I had to leave Germany, I would definitely go to Spain since it is a very interesting, warm and gorgeous country. I can‘t stand cold days, so it would be a perfect country for me. There are several beaches and unique sights such as the castle in Madrid. But nevertheless, a war or bad government would have to happen so that I would leave Germany because then it would be really bad to live in Germany as you wouldn‘t be treated well. But if I really had enough money, I would try to immigrate to Spain. I would hope that the people would be friendly to me and understand that I wouldn‘t be able to speak their language at first but I even think that I wouldn‘t be able to speak Spanish fluently even if I learned it for several years because it is a difficult language. I would also hope that the life would be great there and I would make new friends. I think I would also have a lot of problems for example missing my family and my friends and I would have problems with speaking their language. I would be afraid of talking to them since perhaps they would make fun of me or would talk to me in an unfriendly way. It would be a complete change for me and I would have to get used to new habits for example going to another school. On the other hand, it would be great to experience new adventures and explore new locations. You could go to a beach every day! So, on the one hand, I would really like to go to Spain but on the other hand, I would be really afraid of leaving my home country because of the problems that could "destroy“ my life. I am not sure whether I stay here in Germany or go to an other country.“

ich stehe gerade etwas auf dem Schlauch beim Verfassen meines Motivationsschreibens und bin nicht wirklich wortgewandt. But in 1990, the wall was destroyed and Germany has become a united nation since then. As you can see, the history of Germany was very interesting. German is also known for its special "meals“ such as beer, "Bretzel“, sauerkraut, and ,,Currywurst“ which is a special type of a sausage. Germany has the advantage that people come to Germany from all over the world and they are treated well. Most people come from Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and Poland. There are a lot of sights in Germany since Germany consists of 16 federal states. German corner is in Koblenz and there‘s a statue of William, the first German emperor, and it is very gorgeous there. You can explore the natural location there and just relax. Another famous sight is the Cologne cathedral which is a gorgeous catholic church. In my opinion some people could be much friendlier as they sometimes stare at you or talk to you in an unfriendly way. But of course there are also very kind people."

Ich bin gerade im zweiten Jahr spanisch und habe die reflexiven Verben und acabar de + Infinitiv kennengelernt. Kann man beide vermischen?
Bei der Zeitform muss man ja den Infinitiv verwenden, aber das geht nicht, wenn man reflexive Verben verwendet.

Mich interessiert nur warum es mal „eine” und mal „eins” heißt und wovon das eigentlich abhängig ist?

Heißt es auch eins oder eine auf die Nase/Nuss?

Der satz leutet: innerhalb von dünf minuten standen mehrer Polizeiautos vor der Bank.

Doch anstatt die Bank zu stürmen, blieben die Polizisten draußen vor dem Bankgebäude. Es sah so aus, als berieten sie sich.

Im meinem Heimatland ist Fußball mehr als nur ein Sport - es ist eine Leidenschaft, die Menschen aller Altersgruppen und Hintergründe verbindet. Die Unterstützung der Nationalmannschaft und lokaler Clubs schafft eine starke Gemeinschaft und eine einzigartige Atmosphäre in den Stadien, wo Fans gemeinsam ihre Mannschaften anfeuern und ihre Liebe zum Spiel zeigen.

Hallo, leider habe ich ziemlich Schwierigkeiten darin sprachliche Bilder zu wie zbs. Metaphern, Personifikationen oder Vergleiche zu interpretieren bzw. die Bedeutung herauszufinden.. hätte ihr evtl. irgendwelche Tipps und Tricks ? Ich dachte es wäre eine große Hilfe wenn ich das Gedicht finden würde welches morgen in der Klassenarbeit drankommt oder eins mit einer ähnlichen Bedeutung. Aufjedenfall hatten wir in den letzen Tage das Thema Gedichtsinterpretation und halt Expressionismus aber sie selbst meine das es kein Gedicht vom Expressionismus ist bzw. nicht ganz dazu gehört. Ebenfalls meinte sie es ist kein Sonett also gibt es wahrscheinlich auch keine deutliche Zäsur. Sie meinte auch es wird kein Bild geben . So hättet ihr evtl. eine Klassenarbeit die dieser Beschreibung entspricht, falls ja wäre es sehr freundlich wenn sie den Namen nennen würden oder vllt sogar ein Bild von der Arbeit schicken würden. Und zum Schluss noch ein Problem und zwar habe ich in den vorherigen Arbeiten immer große Schwierigkeiten auf Rechtschreibung und Zeichensetzung zu achten.. besonders schwierig ist das mit dass zu unterscheiden.. haben sie auch noch irgendwelche Tipps und Tricks dazu ? Hallo Zusammen wollte fragen ob das so ein Sinn macht und zwar muss ich etwas erzählen was ich im französischen Bereich erlebt habe auf französisch und das ist mein Text :
je peux vous raconter mon excursion d'apprentissage. Chaque année, nous faisons une sortie avec tous les apprentis de notre entreprise. Cette année, la sortie a eu lieu le 5 avril et nous sommes allés à Lausanne, à Aquatis, le plus grand aquarium d'eau douce d'Europe. Nous nous sommes retrouvés à 7h15 à la gare d'Aarau et avons pris le train pour Lausanne. Le trajet en train a duré environ 2 heures et 20 minutes. Quand nous sommes arrivés à Aquatis vers 10 heures, nous y avons passé environ deux heures. J'ai vu de nombreuses espèces de poissons et d'animaux différents. C'était fascinant de découvrir toutes ces espèces différentes. Je peux vous montrer quelques photos avec plaisir ! 

Nous avons passé environ deux heures à Aquatis. Ensuite, nous avons eu la possibilité de nous promener librement dans la ville de Lausanne en groupes de 4 à 10 personnes. Une personne de mon groupe connaissait bien Lausanne et nous a dit qu'il y avait un musée à proximité où l'entrée était gratuite, alors nous nous sommes rendus là-bas. Le musée s'appelle Palais de Rumine. Dans ce musée, on peut également découvrir de nombreuses espèces animales différentes. J'ai pris quelques photos du musée, mais pas beaucoup.

Ich weiß, es gibt echt schlimmeres auf der Welt, über das man sich aufregen könnte, aber ganz im Ernst: Mich triggert es ungemein, wenn jemand statt einem oder drei Punkten am Ende eines Satzes nur zwei macht..

Ich habe früher gedacht, dass sowas aus Versehen passiert, aber gerade im englisch sprachigem Raum sehe ich das immer wieder, auch in handgeschriebenen Texten (z.B. Comics). Das wird also inzwischen mit Absicht gemacht! WARUM? Wissen die Leute nicht, dass am Ende eines Satzes entweder ein Punkt kommt oder zumindest drei? Aber doch nicht zwei..

Kann man anstatt ,,Will she pass the exam“ auch ,,Is she going to pass the exam“ sagen?

The cartoon shows two parts divided into the years 1998 and 2018. In the forderground of the part of 1998 can you see a mother, who stops a boy. Next to the boy is a ball. The mother pulls hin in the house against he will. The part two of year 2018 shows the mother with the boy too. But the mother pulls the boy out of the house against he will. The Boy is holding a game console in his hands. In both parts acts the mother vigorously to get him in and out of the house. Furthermore can you see in both parts, that the boy does not seem pleased to have to finish his activity.

I think the cartoonist is intended to show, that the young generation spend variously sporty activities in the past and today. In year 1988 the boy wants to spend his free time outside playing ball games. The boy in year 2018 wants to play games inside on his game console.

I agree with the cartoonist, because playing online games are very popular at present and are the new trend under young people. A lot of teenager spend a lot of time inside and playing game console. But this have for the young generation negative consequenses. I think playing online games are very bad for the Health of young generation. Because of, the people get not enough movement and this can lead for example to overwight. On the top the youngs start to meet gaming friends instead of their real friends. Through this the youngs lost the realitiy. An another big consequense is that the childrens could become a addict. So, the young generation get not even physical but also a mental health problem.

In summary I can say that the kind of doing sport are different in the past and now. Today, the role of sport for childrens focused in playing online games.

Bei dem Satz: ,,Während er den Zettel anstarrte, überlegte der Fremde, wie er aus der Bar fliehen könnte.“ Wäre dann ,,While he was staring at the piece of paper, the stranger was thinking how he could escape the bar" richtig oder müsste man das ,,was thinking“ zu ,,thought“ machen? Bitte mit Begründung.

Ich habe eine grammatikalische Frage im Englisch. Das present simple verwendet man ja für "habits oder routines". Muss ich dementsprechend sagen "I like to go out with my friends" oder darf ich auch "I like going out with my friends" sagen? Oder gehen evtl. beide?

Die tun so als wäre der ganze Satz unverständlich weil ich ein einziges Englisches Wort benutzt habe, was dann meistens auch noch Wörter sind die überhaupt keine Deutsche Übersetzung haben oder deren Übersetzung in dem Kontext was komplett anderes bedeutet

Ich habe gelernt, dass nach einem kurz, betonten Vokal der darauffolgende Konsonant verdoppelt geschrieben wird. Ich habe außerdem gelernt, dass sofern nach dem kurzen, betonten Vokal mehrere verschiedene Konsonanten folgen, der Konsonant nicht doppelt geschrieben wird. Wie ist es aber bei dem Wort "Tollpatsch". Wieso wird es eigentlich mit doppelt L geschriebene ?

Ich meine irgendwann sind ja auch die ganzen deutschen Wörter mal entstanden. Jetzt habe ich den Eindruck, dass fast jedes neue Wort im Deutschen immer wieder ein Anglizismus sein muss. Frage siehe oben. Wenn ich das bei Google suche bekomme ich viele Ergebnisse, die "wiederbekommen" zusammenschreiben, weswegen ich dachte, "wiederzubekommen" würde ebenfalls zusammengeschrieben werden, mein Freund sagt das auch, aber laut der Autokorrektur ist das falsch.

Der Satz, in dem das Wort verwendet wird, lautet: "Mehrere Versuche, die Originalglocke von der evangelischen Kirche St. Jakobi wiederzubekommen, scheiterten."

im Deutschen sagt man ja, ich will Kinderärztin werden. Macht man das im Französischen auch so, also benutzt man dann vor pédiatre keinen Artikel wie bei den drei Sätzen unten?

1. Je vais continuer et vous expliquer pourquoi pédiatre est mon métier de rêve.
2. Le métier qui m'intéresse, c’est pédiatre, une femme médecin spécialisée pour les enfants.
3. Le métier de pédiatre m'intéresse, pédiatre est même mon métier de rêve.

Hi, meine Frage ist, warum man im Englischen „I wish I were you“ sagt, anstatt von „I wish I was you“ ?

In das Verb „to be“ in der ersten Form Singular im Simple past ist doch „I was“

Kann es mir zufällig jemand erklären warum man bei der Satzstellung „I were“ benutzt ? Ist es vielleicht doch eine andere Zeitform ?

Für „wäre“ benutzt man doch eigentlich auch „would be“ oder ?

Mi casa es pequeña pero cómoda. Al entrar, ves un recibidor brillante. A la derecha del recibidor está la cocina, que es pequeña pero tiene todo lo necesario para cocinar.
