Deutsch: „Nachdem die Troianer lange über das hölzerne Pferd beratschlagt hatten, beschlossen sie, es in die Stadt zu ziehen und dort aufzustellen. Denn sie glaubten , dass die Griechen das Pferd für die Götter zurückgelassen haben/hätten. Allein Laokoon, Priester des Neptun, durchschaute die Hinterlist der Griechen. Er lief von der Stadt an die Küste und rief mit lauter Stimme: „Geht auseinander! Flieht! Was auch immer es ist, ich fürchte die Danaer [Griechen], auch wenn sie Geschenke bringen.“ Kaum hatte er die Worte gesagt, als zwei Schlangen schnell an die Küste gelangten, Laokoon und seine Söhne angriffen und sie grausam töteten. “ Die Troianer glaubten, dass Laokoon für seine Worte eine bejammernswerte Strafe erlitten hatte/habe. Dann zogen sie mit großer Freude das Pferd in die Stadt.“
