After the following verbs the infinitive is always preceded by an object. One of these verbs is to advise (anweisen, anraten). Here is an example of its rule in a sentence:
Der Lehrer riet ihm, etwas angestrengter zu lernen.
Translation: The teacher advised him to study a bit harder.
