Was macht man wenn das Q größer ist als das P (pq-Formel)?
2x²-8x=10
so weit binn ich gekommen:
2x²-8x-10=0
x²-4x-5=0
An dieser Stelle wollte ich mit der pq-Formel rechnen, dies geht aber leider nicht, da das Q größer als P ist.
Die Lösung ist:
x1 = -1
x2 = 5
Ich weiß aber nicht wie man das rechnet...

Dort gibt es kein Problem. Du darfst auf gar keinen Fall vergessen, dass q negativ ist. Und in der Formel steht ja "...... - q". Das heißt: ..... - (-5). Das sind das gleiche wie + 5. Ich glaube da lag dein Fehler.
x(1/2) = -(-4/2) +/- √(-4/2)² + 5
x(1/2) = 2 +/- √9
x1 = 2 + 3 =5
x2= 2 - 3 = -1

Solange nichts negatives unter der Wurzel steht, ist da doch kein Problem, bei einer negativen Wurzel kommt einfach raus, daß es keine Lösung gibt. Aber in deinem Fall ist die Wurzel ja positiv. Wenn du es in die pq-Formel einsetzt hast du ja: 2±√(4+5), also 2±√9, also 2±3
1.: 2+3=5 ist die erste Lösung
2.: 2-3=-1 ist die zweite Lösung
[-b +/- Wurzel aus( b^2 - 4*a *c)]:2*a
-> a = 2
b = -8
c = -10
[8 +/- Wurzel (64 - 4*2 *(-10)] :2*2
[8 +/- Wurzel (144)] 2*2
[8 +/- 12] : 4
x1 = 20:4 = 5
x2 = -4/4 = -1
Wo ist das Problem?
x²-4x-5 = 0
x1,2 = 2 ± √(4+5)
x1,2 = 2 ± √9
x1,2 = 2 ± 3
x1 = 2+3 = 5
x2 = 2-3 = -1
Inwiefern geht das nicht?
Die einzige Einschränkung, die du hast, ist, dass der Radikant nicht negativ werden darf.

Das ist die Mitternachtsformel (abc-Formel).
Die verwirrt aber hier wahrscheinlich nur den FS, da eindeutig nach der pq-Formel gefragt wurde.
