Hermann is a small town in Missouri, which has a population about 2500. Farmers grow grapes in the area, so the main industry is winemaking. They have a “Festhalle”, which look German. There they celebrate traditional German festivals. Hermann has a lot of shops and restaurants. Therefore, many tourists visit it.

Bei "traditional" würde ich hier schon beim Adjektiv bleiben.

Das ist eine sehr gelungene, elegante Version.
(Das Komma in der Zahl ist nötig, der Bindestrich bei wine-making üblich, auch wenn man's gelegentlich ohne sieht; hinter "Festhalle" hätte ich ein Komma gesetzt. Hinter "which" könnte man vielleicht noch als kleines Schmankerl "also" einsetzen.)

Wie adabei würde ich bei "traditional" bleiben, da sich das Wort im Original auf "festivals" bezieht.

Ich freue mich immer, wenn ein native speaker mit seinen Rückmeldungen vorbeischaut...
Davon profitieren alle.

Hallo earnest, ich danke dir für deinen Beitrag.
Ich denke hier (in diesem Kontext!) mit anderer Logik: bei traditional habe ich mich für das Adverb entschieden, weil ich glaube, dass in dieser "deutschen Ecke" der USA eher das Deutsche (bzw. die Deutschtümelei dort) betont werden sollte. Deshalb traditionally German (traditionell deutsch) anstatt traditional festivals (traditionelle Feste).

Ist sicher Auffassungssache, auf jeden Fall sind aber beide Varianten möglich, sinnvoll und richtig.

They have a “Festhalle”, which look (bezieht sich auf Festhalle) German**. There (als Nebensatz anbinden)** they celebrate traditional German festivals. Hermann has (nicht hat, sondern gibt es) a lot of shops and restaurants. Therefore, many tourists visit it. (Forme einen Passivsatz.)

Das Fettgedruckte muss korrigiert werden. Ich hoffe, ich habe nichts übersehen.

Für das Vokabular und die Rechtschreibung empfehle ich ein gutes (online) Wörterbuch, z.B. pons.eu,

für die Grammatik ego4u.de und englisch-hilfen.de.

Meinst du "from" ?

Festhalle ist 3.pers. Sg. f. aber das have steht ja für they ???

Ja, aber es gibt da auch noch ein Verb, dessen Subjekt "Festhalle" ist. (Schau dir doch mal den Relativsatz an, der sich auf "Festhalle" bezieht.9

As the owners, Falak Shahi and Florian, are of the opinion that German sausages aren't comparable to English ones, their friends have taken the intiative to bring them original sausages made in German. So the couple decided to sell their sausages in local pups so called "sausageweeks". As an upgrade they started to sell their sausages on a music festival which has contributed to high success. In 2010 they opened their first restaurant located in London. Maybe you're wondering why this restaurant did blow up and has attracted so much attention.This is because Germany is very popular in UK and Berlin is seen as a trendy city. But what also plays a big role is German and English people raising awarness of how close we actually are and not as different as they thought to be. Falakshahi and Florian are also playing with cliches and have decorated their restaurants full of cliches. That seems to many clients pretty hilarious and cool. The last thing I want to address is their future objectives. They are dreaming that two or three new restaurants will open within a year and sausages will be offered with their own logo in English grocery stores. Passt der Englische Text?

In the poem ‚,The Schoolboy‘‘ by William Blake, you get a clear message that the schoolboy doesn’t enjoy the school and its system at all, so the question that arises is ,,What could school do, to be more enjoyable for the schoolboy and students like me?‘‘

First of all many students have to wake up early in the morning, which isn’t a perfect start into the day. Furthermore they mostly can’t enjoy the morning even if they like to stand up early, because they must get finished quickly for school. To counteract this problem, it would be a good start to begin with school less early and to approach the day more calmly. So to remove the effect of a prison it’s important to produce a more peaceful environment for everyone, to make the classrooms more comfortable and even integrate some outdoors schoollessons in spring and summer, so that the pupils have more joy in learning and are able to concentrate more because of the fresh air and the nature. Last but not least we schoolboys anf schoolgirls should be allowed to have more own thoughts and to be able to control them and not just being forced to memorize things, which won’t be even important for our adulthood.

I also think that the last point which is beinh made here, is a fact which the author want to draw attention to, because it’s a mostly international problem that should has to change as we are not robots.

Verbesserung englischreferat Stonehenge

Ich musse in Referat über Stonhenge machen und haben schon einen Text geschrieben was drin vorkommt. Wäre nett wenn ihr Verbesserung im Satzbau und zu inhaltlichen informationen habt und Tempusfehler und soweiter Hier der Text:STONEHENGE

It is near of Salisbury and 187 km southwest of London. It was built in the end of the young-stone-age.

More than 600 people built Stonehenge. The Druids used it as a suntemple.

Around Stonehenge is a high wall. It is built of a sandstone circle with 60 stones and a bluestone circle with 66 stones, which are 1m high . In the middle is the Altarston , which is 3m long.

Stonehenge has a diameter of 110m. The Sandstones are from Marlborough Downs and the bluestones from Preseli Mountains. The stones have a weight about 20 tons. Many of the stones have fallen or been removed for road repair.

Stonehenge was built in 3 Steps: 1: 3100 BC They made a round wall and woodbuildings. 2: 2500 BC They changed the woodbuildings into stonebuildings 3: 1600 BC They added Sandstones and changed the position of the blue stones

In the end Stonehenge has 3 stone circels, a building with the form of a U and around It were 2 walls

Summary zu "Speak" auf englisch, kann mir das jemand verbessern? ;)

Hey, hab 'nen Summary zu dem Buch "Speak" auf englisch geschrieben, kann mir jemand sagen ob da Fehler sind? Hört sich nämlich übelst scheiße an, finde ich. :D

Summary The novel „Speak“ by Laurie Halse Anderson is about a girl, called Melinda Sordino who has been raped at a summer party and has then called the police. It tells about how her „friends“ react after holidays and how she lost her voice and comes along with all.

The party has been given by one of Melinda’s friends. At the moment she has been raped she has called the police to help her but when they arrived they only find many drunken teenagers with illegal alcohol. After holiday in High School she becomes an Outcast because nobody of her ex-friends knows what has really happened. The ‚raper’ is on the same school as she is, so it’s really hard for her to forget everything. She makes and looses new friends and spends this terrible year with realizing the whole situation and finding her voice back which she has lost as a result of her trauma to tell the truth. Only her art teacher notices that she is a nice and talented girl.

Should the British monarchy be abolished?

Lots of people argue about whether the British monarchy should be abolished or not since the Queen recently died.

Therefore, I will list arguments for and against the monarch so that you can form your own opinion.

On one hand, a monarch is seen as a representative of the country.

That is, he or she embodies traditional national values, unity and history.

This leads to stronger national identification and brings people closer together.

That is why many people say that a monarchy brings stability.

In addition, members of the royal family have important roles at the head of all kinds of charities, and because of their image and popularity, they help charities continue their good work.

Another positive aspect is that the British monarchy has shown that it is able to reform and adapt to modern times. An example of this would be that Prince Charles was allowed to marry a divorced women.

It can also be said that the queen or king is perhaps the most expensive monarch in Europe, but that does not mean that a president would be cheaper.

On the other hand, the monarch has no real political power, which means that his or her functions are mainly formal and could easily be taken away by other political bodies or an elected president.

Although many members of the Royal Family head charities they do not really engage in political work for those charities but rather serve as a kind of figurehead.

But it is precisely a monarchy that harms democracy, because the people cannot elect the head of state.

Also, a monarch has no consequences to face when making mistakes and since Britain is a hereditary monarchy, nobody knows whether the next monarch will have good or bad intentions.

Therefore, it can be said that the royal family is a symbol of an unjust and unequal society.

Weighing the pros and cons one come to the conclusion that the monarchy has many positive sides, for example, it brings stability or embodies history, but the negative sides mask this.

because since the country is a democracy, the monarchy should be abolished so that people can choose for themselves who should be the next monarch so that there is equality.

Los Angeles has seen the evil

A recent school shooting in Los Angeles has brought the issue of school safety in the bad light. So, people became aware of these happening. On 30th April 2023, two 17-year-old students have armed their high school with two guns which left 11 people dead and 5 injured. This incident has left people worried about the safety of students and staff at schools.

Gun violence, especially in schools, is still a national crisis in the United States and migrants are still allowed to carry a gun because of the “national firearms agreement”. Due to the licenses of weapons, such acts are occurring more and more frequently. In order to protect students and school staff, most schools have security guards. There are also usually controls at the entrances. As a way to prevent non-schoolers from entering the school, they have their own school cards, which clearly show the identifies of the students. In addition, the police have increased their presence at schools.

Students, who have witnessed such incident, are usually traumatised and can hardly cope without psychological help. Many students and parents report terrible feelings and perceptions. “I was so scared when I heard gunshots. I ran and hid under a desk until the police came. Now I’m afraid to come back to school,” says a victim who survived this cruelty. Parents were calling desperately for their children, they even got more scared when they didn’t respond. These are just a few. As a result, the police has to deal with such incidents more and more often. “It is nothing scary anymore, we are already used to it”, claims a policeman. “We are already best prepared for such acts”, adds another officer. They have certain educations and trainings for these hardships.

Due to the school shooting on April 30th, this issue is more present than ever. Many students and parents are extremely frightened that they can also be victims. This clearly shows that much more could be done preventively.

Sind da Fehler in meinem Englisch Referat, Wenn ja welche?

Renewable energy Good morning ladies and gentleman, Today I’d like to talk to you about a very important and currant topic: renewable energies. But what are renewable energies? Renewable energies or regenerative energies are energy sources which are inexhaustibly available to use or energy sources which can be renewed very fast.

Fossil fuels in contrast need millions of years to be renewed. Renewable energy is the most important factor of the sustainable energy policy and the energy revolution. Examples are: bioenergy, geothermics, hydropower, ocean energy and wind energy But how do they work? The energy source the sun for example is giving us light for millions of years. With her we can easily heat water. Solar thermal installations are therefore standard facilities at new houses. The solar panels produce heat which we can use for showering, heating, and other things in our household. To produce current there are two ways: solar cells convert light directly into current. This process is also called recombination. In warmer countries there are often solar thermal power plants. With big mirrors the sunlight gets bunched, converted into heat and stream turbines can be boosted. Then the direct current can be transported. The advantages of renewable energies are that they are like I said sustainable and they never run out, secondarily they require less maintenance than traditional generators. Their fuel being derived from natural and available resources reduces the costs of operation.

Even more importantly, renewable energy produces little or no waste products such as carbon dioxide or other chemical pollutants, so has minimal impact on the environment. Renewable energy projects can also bring economic benefits to many regional areas, as most projects are located away from large urban centres and suburbs of the capital cities. These economic benefits may be from the increased use of local services as well as tourism.

It is easy to recognize the environmental advantages of utilizing the alternative and renewable forms of energy but we must also be aware of the disadvantages.

One disadvantage with renewable energy is that it is difficult to generate the quantities of electricity that are as large as those produced by traditional fossil fuel generators. This may mean that we need to reduce the amount of energy we use or simply build more energy facilities. It also indicates that the best solution to our energy problems may be to have a balance of many different power sources. Another disadvantage of renewable energy sources is the reliability of supply. Renewable energy often relies on the weather for its source of power.

In 16th Century, the Humans Startes to arrive, but many People are died, because they have to Fight in blöde Fights. In 1901, Australia which is the smalles continent, was founded. Yesterday we have visit the Ayers Rock, which is also fallen Uluru. The Uluru is a really sacred place for the Aboriginies, therefore you have to show respect. The Ayers Rock is in the middle of nowhere, so it's really difficult to arrive to the Ayers Rock. Fortunately, there are a Pool in our hotel, because it's very hot ans dry. Today we want to go to the kargest coral reef in the world, which is called Great Barrier Reef. Do you know that you can see the Great Barrier Reef from space with the naked eye?It's really beautiful, the Blue water, the blue sky and the 2.000 species of animals. Another highlight in Australia is Sydney. Sydney, which is the biggest city in Australia, isn't the capital, because the capital is Canberra. I think The Most interesting sight is the Opera House, which is surrounded by water on three sides. So, Australia is a really wonderful country and i want you to go to Australia.

Meet Angelina, a wonderful and spirited girl in our class. Angelia is 13 years old and her birthday is in September. Summer is her favourite season, because her birthday is in summer and she loves the warm weather with the sunshine. she loves swimming in the swimming-pool with her friends and her brothers and sisters.

One fact about her is that she makes everybody laughing, even if when the person doesn’t want to laugh. She is very kind, creative and helpful. And she loves animals so much. She is a very big animal lover. That’s one reason why she has 3 dogs and 5 rabbits. She also has been riding horses for a long time.

Her hobbys are very cool! She is in love with playing soccer and she is very good. Angelia is in the goal and is holding the balls. Her favourite club is FC Bayern, where also playing Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala her favourite players.

But she also loves drawing what she is doing since the kindergarten. She likes to draw with the colours red and blue, because they are her favourite colours.

Sport and german are her favourite subjects in the school. But she doesn’t like english, except the topics about the american history. though she prefers english music more than german music. Her favourite ice cream is cinement and chocolate and her favourite food is sushi, which she could eat every day for lunch.

Was ist an der Summary falsch ( Englisch)?

Wo und inwiefern wurde bei der summary gegen die Regeln von summarys schreiben vertoßen?

Dr Hyde tells the students: 'Karl Marx famously called religion the "opiate of the masses". This statement makes Miles think about the question of a possible afterlife and of where Alaska might be now. After class he goes to McDonald's with Takumi where they admit to one another how much they miss Alaska. Clever as he is, Chip has come up with yet another ingenious plan. He wants to get drunk to find out how drunk Alaska was when she hit the police car. To be able to do so, Chip and Miles steal Mr Starnes's breathalyser, which turns out to be quite difficult. Takumi is annoyed that he is not allowed to take part in this plan. The two boys stay up in their room where chip drinks as much as he can while Miles uses the breathalyser to measure the amount of alcohol in his blood. Miles urges Chip on, saying he can surely outdrink a girl. In the middle of their experiment Mr Starnes knocks on their door. Luckily, they manage to fool him, but Miles has to appear before the jury for smoking in his room. In the end they come to the conclusion that Alaska was definitely too drunk to drive, which possibly helps them overcome their feelings of guilt. Because of their investigations, Miles has neglected his studies, but he doesn't really care. Chip decides that they have to call Jake now, because he is the only one who might help them find out more. They finally let Takumi in on what happened the night Alaska left, whereupon Takumi tells them that they shouldn't have set off the fireworks.

My best frienddd

Habe bald Englisch Schularbeit und wollte fragen ob sich jemand meinen Text auf grammatikalische oder sprachliche Fehler ansehen könnte.

My best friend is Charlie. Charlie is 16 years old and lives in Wieselburg. I know him since my childhood and he has been always there for me. In the following text I want to describe his appearance and his qualities, which make him to the person he is.

Charlie is 1,8m high and is looking really sporty because he likes a lot of sports, which help him to hold his body in a good and healthy condition. He has brown, short hair and most of the time he is smiling because he is simply a happy person.

One of his starches is his generosity. He loves it to help other people if they are not understanding something at school or have any other problems. Moreover, he is a funny person and has always a good entertaining joke in stock. Although Charlie is such a funny person, he is also able to handle with responsibility. This feature makes him a good student. Last year he even has only ones in his school certificate.

Most of the time, if he does not have to do anything for school, he is playing outside with friends or helping in the household, which is not seen often seen nowadays. His greatest hobby is soccer. Charlie is spending nearly a hour per day on playing soccer because he wants to be a well-known football player if he is older. Not everyone can deserves his money by soccer because you have to be really good at playing football. I think his abition and enthusiasm will make him a good soccer player and that he has a real chance to become a famous football player.

All in all Charlie is a really funny and reliable person and I can be happy to have such a good friend like him.
