Hallo!

Ich schreibe bald eine Englisch-Klausur über A pair of jeans und The black Madonna. Ich habe hier eine kurze Summary zu A pair of jeans gemacht und würde euch bitten, diese inhaltlich(wenn die Kurzgeschichte bekannt ist) , grammatikalisch und von der Rechtschreibung her zu verbessern. (Ich habe auch noch ein Forum mit der anderen Kurzgeschichte geöffnet.

Miriam, a young pakestany women tried to have British and Muslim culture without giving up her identity. Her parents-in-law were shocked when they see her in western clothes. While Miriam turns to the traditional clothes her in-laws go earlier home than intended. They cancelled the arranged marriage. In the FIRST ending Miriam think that the modern clothes are the reason of her problem. In the SECOND ending Miriam decide to wear the western clothes and call Farook to discuss the situation.

Auch, wenn nicht mehr aktuell, hier die sprachliche und inhaltliche Verbesserung:

Miriam, who is a young Pakistani woman living in England, desperately tries to adapt to the British and the Muslim culture without giving up her identity. When Miriam accidentally meets her parents-in-law while wearing (inappropriate) Western clothes, she is discriminated against by her in-laws. Farook's parents (the in-laws), who manifest a narrow-minded attitude towards women and the Western culture and stick to islamic tradition/values, thus call the wedding off.

Sprachlich ist deine Inhaltsangabe ok, achte nur auf die Zeiten - generell gilt bei Inhaltsangaben, dass im Präsens zu schreiben ist.

Inhaltlich ist die Inhaltsangabe meines Erachtens etwas Zusammenhangslos und für Leute, die die Kurzgeschichte selbst nicht gelesen haben, nur schwer verständlich.

Habe alle Antworten mal zu einer Inhaltsangabe zusammengefasst:

The story is about Miriam, a young Pakistani woman, who has an arranged marriage with Farook. When Miriam comes home to her mother Fatima one day, she accidentally meets her in-laws, Ayub and Begum, while wearing inappropriate Western clothes. Farook's parents, who have a narrow-minded attitude towards women and Western culture and stick to Islamic traditions/values are completely shocked by Miriams outfit and call the wedding off. Miriam is furious and retires to her room. (second ending) Miriam dresses in the same clothes that scandalized her future in-laws and defiantly sets out to inform her fiancé about his parents`decision.

Das hat vielleicht nichts mit dein Thema zu tun, aber ich möchte trotzdem dir sagen, dass Islam keine Kultur ist, sondern eine Religion und deswegen sagt man nicht she wants to be part of the Muslim culture.

Ich glaube du hast zwei mal das s bei der 3. Person Sg vergessen (Miriam thinks, Miriam decides)

Eine weitere Summary: Fehler, Verbesserungsvorschläge?

The short story 'Locker 160', written by Lee Busselman deals with two girls called Karen and Julie who bully their classmate Miriam by playing tricks on her. Karen gets the idea of putting a hate note in someones locker. The other gir, Julie agrees. They coose the locker of their classmate Miriam. Both of them do not like her, because in their opinion she is just different. When they want to put the note into the locker, none of the girls want to do it themselves. Karen takes the paper anyway, put it in the locker nervously and walkes away with a pleasant feeling of relief. Then they watch Miriam's reaction, her face turns red, and both of the girls have to laugh. The next days they play other tricks on her. Karen and Julie put a plastic bag of marbles in Miriam's locker, which were clattering down the hallway, they make a voodoo doll of Miriam with a hug pin it's head and they also write a petition, which declaires that Meriam is weird and hated by all of her classmates. Below this note they copy the signatures of their classmates from a real petition. For Julie and Karen all this tricks are just funny. Later while they are waiting for Miriam's raction to their last trick, in biology class, they ask themselves, why she would not come to school. At the end of the lesson they find out that Miriam tried to commit suicide, but for them this is just funny and they do not even feel guilty.

Kuzgeschichte , summary korrigieren

Hey könntet ihr meine summary zur Kurzgeschichte "Locker 160" mal verbessern bzw korrigieren .

The Shortstory „Locker 160“ written by Lee Busselmann is about three girls,which put hate notes in a locker from a girl at school named Miriam Laker. There a three Friends : Miriam,Julie and Karen and one oft them have the idea to write a hatemessage to a girl from her class, because she ist different. Firstly they have fear and they write not so mean things like „you stink“.When the victim reads the message , she is hurt but the girls lauging about her condition. Secondly the „mobber“ making a vodoo toll of miriam and the girls think it is a funny act. At last they take a petition to change the school dress code from the „different girl“ ,which is successful by all pupil and change the petitionname to a hatestatement for miriam . This is why Miriam locked herself in a classroom and turned on the gas from the stoves, when the girls hear this they joking about her.

Hey Leute, ich habe versucht über dieser Kurzgeschichte eine Summary zuschreiben😊. Kann jemand bitte von euch schauen, ob ich es richtig gemacht? Sei es Inhalt, Grammatik oder Rechtschreibung😊.

Die Kurzgeschichte:

Meine Summary:

The short story "Patricia" written by Fraser Sutherland is about a boy, who has a crush on Patricia, but never told her, until a spring dance in their school takes place.

The short story can be divided into 3 sections. In the first section (l.1-16) the narrator describes the look of both teenagers. The boy is shown as very sportive and muscular (l-1ll, 5). According to the narrator is Patricia a very pretty young girl (l.7-16) with the perfect body and a beautiful face. The second section (l.17-36) is about the puberty of both students and how their body and voice change. Also the narrator talks about their relationship, with his descriptions the reader can see that the guy loves Patricia (l.7,21, 33l, 36). In the last section (l. 37-56) is the topic “spring dance” at the school taken up. The guy wants finally ask Patricia if she would like to go with him to the dance and does it (l. 42), but she declines his question (l.50). This is a sign that she doesn’t love him. At the end, both do not go to the dance (l.54l.) instead they go different ways.

Summary oft the short story?

Summary:

The short storie Locker 160 written by Lee Busselmann is about two high school students,Karen and Julie who bully Miriam in three different ways.

First,Julie decides to write hate notice and puts it in Miriam's Locker 160 the next morning.

They are waiting for their victim and they are waiting to see how she reacts.

The second way of preparation is to put marbles in a plastic bag and place it in Miriam's Locker.

Karen and Julie are waiting for Miriam to arrive to head to her Locker.

They notices that as she opens her Locker,

the marbles clatters down the hallway.

The third and the last way is prepare a voodoo doll of Miriam use a large carrot in the shape of her body and an onion with one black yarn so as to form her head.

They are waiting for Miriam to come to their biology class before the lesson begin.

But Miriam isn't there.

She has turn on the gas stove at home and the rescue squad has arrives at the school on the way the save Miriam.

The narrator seems to be involved in all three ways but just based on his thoughts because of the way he talks during the short story.

Locker 160, DRINGENDES PROBLEM?

Also ich schreibe in einigen Tagen eine wichtige Englischklausur, wo wir sowohl Summary als auch Charakterisierung schreiben müssen und natürlich haben wir zuvor auch Hausaufgaben bekommen, wo wir Charakterisierungen und Summarys schreiben mussten .. nur mein Problem ist irgendwie die Ttsache, dass ich automatisch, ohne es selber zu merken, die deutsche Grammatik für Englische Texte verwende und zu kompliziert schreibe, sodass ich dann im nachhinein nur mehr Fehler habe ..

Summary The short story ‘Locker 160’ written by Lee Busselman deals with two girls called Karen and Julie, who bully their classmate Miriam by play tricks on her. Karen gets the Idea to put a hate note in someone’s Locker and she and Julie choose the Locker from Miriam, their classmate, who is not hated by them, but they think, that she is different. At first Karen takes the hate note, put it in the Locker and walks away with the feeling of relief, but then it happens, that the two girls get fun to play nasty tricks on Miriam. They do it everytime, put some things like mean letters or an open plastic bag of marbles in her Locker, for a couple of days, until Miriam takes a option to try to commit suicide, (but instead of beeing guilty or take this as a warning) Karen and Julie laugh at the end.

Characterization In the shortstory ‘Locker 160’, written by Lee Busselman, an important character called Miriam takes place. She is a victim of Mobbing and gives the story a thread to be, how it belongs, even if this character wants to fade away in the end.

Miriam Laker is a student, seems to be around sixteen or seventeen - according to the text, her behavior seems to be x: She writes poetrys (l.10) what gives the impression, that Miriam is very creative and even if others maybe do not understand her, might not like her, because her hobby/ she seems weird for her classmates (l. 47) and would not be popular (l.9), she is still by herself and does her things, like study hard for school, be ambious, because of the fact, that she has never beeing late for a class (l.53-54) and keeps everthing tidy, not just in her locker (l. 14). It could be actually said, that she is clever in her way, but that she writes poetrys, instead of go out with friends, or something, it could be thought that she is lonley and very thoughtful at once.

Hat jemnd eine Idee, oder Vorschläge, damit ich die Klausur nicht völlig verhaue? :/

Kann jemand meine Summary korrigieren?

Hallo, ich schreibe in Englisch eine Klausur, in dem ich eine Summary schreiben muss. Ich habe eins zur Übung geschrieben, weiß aber nicht ob es gut ist oder nicht, vor allem was das Grammatische angeht. Könnte jemand es bitte korrigieren und mir eine Rückmeldung geben?

Das ist mein Text:

The extract from the novel “The absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian”, written by Sherman Alexie deals with the problems when a young and poor Indian boy has a popular girlfriend.

Arnold, the Indian boy, went with his popular girlfriend to the dance. Because he doesn’t have money to drive with a car, they met at the gym. He also wears the old suits of his Dad because of that, but Penelope, his girlfriend, liked it. Till the End of the dance they had fun and Arnold begins to enjoy himself. When they were outside to go home, Arnold saw Penelope’s Dad in front of his car and gave her a good-bye kiss on her cheek, but then a group of the popular students decide to eat pancakes in the next town and ask them too. Arnold just wanted to go home, when everybody was gone but Penelope wants to go with them. When she wants to ask her Dad, Roger, one of the boys, goes with her to tell Penelope’s Dad, that he can drive everybody home. At this point Arnold realized, when he saw them walk together, that Roger and Penelope looked better together and that they should be a couple. The only hope for Arnold was, that her Dad says no, so they don’t know he is a poor Indian boy.

**The Text “The Stolen Generation“ written by Barbara McMahon, Guardian News and Media 2008, is about the stolen Generation from the Aboriginal and the Government who wanted delete the thousands of mixed-race children’s. Zita Wallace told a sad story about her Situation of the “Stolen generation”. As she was a little Girl in Australia, one day the nuns came to her house and took her out. They Said they want to go shopping with her, but they put her and a lots of children in the back of a truck and drove away.

Zita cried a lot, she recount The government wanted to forget the traditions of the Aboriginal, so they stolen children to mix them up with white people, making sure the Aboriginal to delete. The stealing of children ended after 60 years in 1970. Now the affected people and families want a apologize from the government. Finally Australia is saying sorry for all.******

In this book Cathy, the new pupil at Portland High is threaten by the Snakeman and his gang.

Cathy, who comes from New York, is new at Portland High. First, she meets Jamie and he interwiews her, because Jamie is in the newspaper-team. Later she knows Gorden Baker, but she calls him Snakeman, because he is big and slim. The Snakeman and his gang threaten Cathy, they extort money from her and want to hurt her and her brother Mike. Mike is jounger than Cathy. She tries the non- resistance tactic, but it does not work. Later, Cathy tells her problem to Jamie and her mother, Eileen. Jamie asks Cathy to be in the newspaper-team and she says ok. They want to go to police, but they haven't any proof. Then they want to publish an article about the Snakeman and his gang, but Ms. Southerland, the boss of the newspaper-team rejects it! Later they publish the article without the permission from Ms. Souterland and they must to go to Dr. Callahan, the principal. The mayor(Bürgermeister) comes to Dr. Callahan and says that he likes the newspaper. They have a press conference. They make Quotes with the other victims of Snakeman.

English Summary and short story: "The Fun They Had"

Any mistakes? Any Verbesserungsvorschläge? P.s. Ist der Text nicht zu lang für eine Summary? Der orginal Text hat ca. 1042 Wörter.

The short story ‘The fun they had‘, written by Isaac Asimov deals with a boy and a girl, Tommy and Margie, who find out something about school in the past. On the 17th of March 2155 Tommy, a thirteen-year-old boy, finds a ‘real book‘ which has been printed on paper. He is at the house of Margie, an eleven-year-old girl. They both take a look at it togehter. The book is really old and the pages are yellow and crinky. In the year 2155 this kind of books do not exist anymore. In this time words are moving on a television screen. These televisions can contain over a million of boks. That is the reason, why Tommy thinks that they are much better. He has found the old book in the attic of his house. While reading, Tommy says that it is about school. Margie hates school and cannot understand why someone would write about it. She was having problems with learning geography from her ‘mechanical teacher‘. It was black, large and had a screen on it. It teaches the students, gives them exercises and askes them questions, all in a special room in their own house. It can also calculate the marks in no time. Margie hates the slot where she has to insert her homework or test papers. Once the geopraphy sector of her mechanical teacher was geraded too quick, so that her marks got worse and worse. The County Inspector rebuilt it after one hour. He was really nice to Margie. She hopped that her mechanical teacher would be taken away for a longer time, like Tommy’s was, because it’s history sector blanked out completly. Tommy says that the book which he has found, is not about their type of school, it is about school centuires ago. They find out that students back then had a man as a teacher who taught the girls and boys, gave them homework and asked them questions. They had a special building, all the children went to. And they learned the same things, if they were the same age. First Margie does not understand how a person could be a teacher and how the students were thaught the same thing, because her mother says that the education must fit to each child's mind, but nevertheless in her opinion these schools are funny and she wants to read more about it. Then it is time for Margie and Tommy for their school. Margie goes into the schoolroom in her house where the mechanical teacher stands. It is already on, because the lessons are always at regular hours. She was thinking about the old school system and how much fun the children must had, learning and spending time togehter.

Wir sollen in Englisch ein Alternative Ending für die Shortstory „Greyhound tragedy“ schreiben und ich wäre sehr dankbar wenn jemand meinen Text auf Rechschreibung und Grammatik korrigieren könnte.

She finally took up the courage to ask the salesman how much a ticket to Hollywood costs, when the Ford salesman passes by. She felt so brave and free and thought now nothing could stop her from her dream, but this feeling immediately stopped when the man, who sold the tickets told her that there is no bus that goes all the way to Hollywood. Hearing these words she felt like her whole dream was put in a jar and thrown down a cliff. All the years she felt like she was just a bus ride away from going to Hollywood and living the life she always dreamed of. The bus station was such a magical place for her, but now all these feelings she felt when passing the station will go away and it would just be an ordinary place for her. She tried to act cool like nothing happened, but when a young good looking man noticed her and asked if she was alright she couldn’t stand it anymore and her tears started rolling down her cheeks. The man tried to calm her down, but she just started hysterically telling her whole story while the tears already formed a little puddle on the floor. It was a releasing feeling for her and all her fears and thoughts seemed to be away in that one moment. As she wanted to thank the man for trying to comfort her she looked at him for the first time and recognized his face from the hundreds of movies she watched over and over again. It was Logan Smith, one of the most known actors of Hollywood, in her small hometown in Oregon. He felt sorry for her and wanted to give her the opportunity to go back to Hollywood with him to follow her dreams. She didn’t thought for even a second and immediately agreed to his suggestion.

During the 6 hour long ride from Oregon back to Hollywood the two got to know each other pretty well and Logan told her everything she needs to know to be successful in the media industry. About 30 minutes before they would have arrived in Hollywood they had an awful accident with another driver. The car both of them where in crashed into a tree and the other one down a small hill. When the police came they identified the two as dead and the driver of the other car was extremely injured, but he survived.

It didn’t took much time until the news got to know about Logan Smith‘s death and his name was everywhere. In every newspaper, magazine, TV-show or radio was a report about his death. But since he wasn’t alone in the car they all also mentioned Serena Thompson and even showed pictures of the young women from a small Oregon town.

Even five years later Serena Thompson is a name everyone thinks of, when passing the tree near Hollywood, where a picture of Logan and Serena will always remember of their Hollywood tragedy.

Könnte jemand über meinen Essay drüber schauen?

         Every school should demand school uniform

In some countries all over the world school children have to wear uniforms the color scheme and style varies from school to school. In other countries pupils can wear to school what ever clothes they choose. In those countries it could be difficult to introduce school uniforms, because they are not traditionally used to wearing one. In the following essay I want to discuss the advantages to introduce school uniforms world wide.

In my opinion school uniforms ind schools are positive but negative too because not every student have the same style and they cant decide which school uniforms they wanted to wear.

School uniforms are on the one side good because a lot of children are victims of bullying because some of theme haven’t enough money to buy expensive and nice clothes. In this case the school uniform is very practically and maybe a good problem-solving.

On the other side pupils cant find our style and have to wear clothes that they don’t wanted. School uniforms can be nice but not every day ,It quickly becomes boring .However, there are people around the world for which it is too expensive ,always to buy a school uniform. Children grow fast and because of that they have to buy an again and again. We must take into account that the school uniform is maybe expensive but the clothes that the kids need for school is not cheaper and they have to be buy again and again, too.

On the other hand if the pupils wear school uniforms there is not a difference between rich and poor.

I have come to the conclusion that school uniforms are not everywhere positive and children should be able to develop their own style. Cause the bully is not reduced by a school uniform.

Summary zu "Speak" auf englisch, kann mir das jemand verbessern? ;)

Hey, hab 'nen Summary zu dem Buch "Speak" auf englisch geschrieben, kann mir jemand sagen ob da Fehler sind? Hört sich nämlich übelst scheiße an, finde ich. :D

Summary The novel „Speak“ by Laurie Halse Anderson is about a girl, called Melinda Sordino who has been raped at a summer party and has then called the police. It tells about how her „friends“ react after holidays and how she lost her voice and comes along with all.

The party has been given by one of Melinda’s friends. At the moment she has been raped she has called the police to help her but when they arrived they only find many drunken teenagers with illegal alcohol. After holiday in High School she becomes an Outcast because nobody of her ex-friends knows what has really happened. The ‚raper’ is on the same school as she is, so it’s really hard for her to forget everything. She makes and looses new friends and spends this terrible year with realizing the whole situation and finding her voice back which she has lost as a result of her trauma to tell the truth. Only her art teacher notices that she is a nice and talented girl.
