Das kommt auf den Zusammenhang an. "These" benutzt man für Dinge, die nah an einem dran sind und "those" für welche, die weiter weg sind.
Hallo,
this, that, these und those sind Demonstrativpronomen
Singular (Einzahl)
• this = dies/e/er hier; in der Nähe, z.B. diese (Person hier) = this (person here)
• that = dies/e/er dort, jene/r/s; weiter entfernt, z.B. jenes (Person dort) = that (person over there)
Plural (Mehrzahl)
• these = diese (hier; Mehrzahl, in der Nähe), z.B. diese (Personen/Leute hier) = these (people here)
• those = diese (dort; Mehrzahl, weit(er) entfernt), z.B. jene (Personen/Leute dort) = those (people over there)

1) What's** the matter** with these / those people? ist viel besser als das flapsige "What's up?
2) Wann man "these" und "those" verwendet: siehe AstridDerPu.
also soweit ich weiß nimmt man "those" für dinge oder sahcen bzw personen, die weiter entfernt sind und "these" dann für dinge/sachen, die näher dran sind...somit würde ich sagen, dass es "these people" heißen müsste... :)
these wenn die People in der Nähe sich befinden, those wenn die people weiter weg sind.
