War ursprünglich AE, hat sich aber heute überall durchgesetzt.

Früher auf BE:

Not at all oder no problem oder don't mention it.

You're welcome oder einfach welcome.
NIEMALS "please"

mit Bitte (please) kann der Engländer hier nichts anfangen.

Die Antwort auf Thank you ist im Englischen You're welcome. (Bitte, gern geschehen! / Keine Ursache).

In einem anderen Zusammenhang heißt es aber auch Du bist/Sie sind willkommen, z.B. You're welcome to our hotel. (in unserem Hotel).

Man kann aber auch sagen:

- Not at all.

- Don't mention it.

- My pleasure (oder: it's my pleasure)

Dazu möchte ich den Satz eines Briten aus LEO wiederholen:

Normally, in BE we don't say anything in answer to "Thank you", although you could say "you're welcome" if you felt especially grateful



Andere - auch coll. kurze - mögliche Antworten sind z.B.

Sure! (US) Done!

Anytime! !

You’re welcome!

Not at all! !

No problem!

It was nothing!

Think nothing of it! !
