Wann didn't und wann don't?
Hallo! Ich habe seit Jahren Schwierigkeiten mit didn’t und don’t, wann sagt man was.
Gibt es eine Eselsbrücke?

don`t benutzt man im simple present (Gegenwart)
didn`t benutzt man im simple past (Vergangenheit)
Hallo,
zu do und did kenne ich nur diese Eselsbrücke:
- Did und Grundform ist die Norm nach "did" steht nie die Past Tense Form.
(das gilt auch für andere Formen von "to do")
Beispiele:
- Did you go shopping? (Past Simple)
- Do you go shopping? (Present Simple)
- Does he go shopping? (Present Simple, 3. Person Singular)
do (infinitive) - did (past) - done (past participle)
1.In der Verneinung wird bei Vollverben mit dem Hilfsverb do umschrieben.
Simple Present:
Positiv: I/you/we/they drink a cup of tea.
He/she/it drinks a cup of tea.
I/you/we/they do not drink a cup of tea.
He/she/it does not drink a cup of tea.
Simple Past:
Positiv: I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they drank a cup of tea.
I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they did not drink a cup of tea. (Kurzform: didn't)
2.Bei Vollverben wird in der Frage mit do umschrieben (also wandert do/does vor das Subjekt). Bei Hilfs- und Modalverben nicht!
- Does he live in Munich? - Did he live in Munich
3.Mit do in einem positiven Satz, wie z. B. I do understand, I did understand wird die Aussage besonders betont/verstärkt, nach dem Motto: Ich verstehe dich schon/sehr wohl/doch/wirklich verstanden. / Ich habe schon/sehr wohl/doch/wirklich verstanden. Man spricht vom emphatischen do/did.
4.Ist do selbst auch ein Vollverb.
Beispiele: do the homework, do the shopping / did the homework, did the shopping

I don’t want to do it = ich will es nicht tun I didn’t want to do it = Ich wollte es nicht tun
- don't = present tense (Gegenwart, wobei es in der 3. Person Einzahl "doesn't" heißt)
- didn't = past tense (Mitvergangenheit)
