Ist Romeo + Juliet mit Leonardo DiCaprio eigentlich eine Parodie des echten Stücks?
Ich behandle gerade dieses Thema in der Schule. Was würdet ihr sagen? Könnte man es als Parodie bezeichnen, da es ja in den 90er Jahren spielt und ziemlich...ungewöhnlich geschnitten ist.

Eigentlich nein, da es eine Adaption von Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet in eine neuere Zeit ist, genauso wie beispielsweise die BBC Serie Sherlock mit Benedict Cumberbatch.
Eine Parodie ist per Definition ein Werk das sich satirisch oder ironisch über etwas lustig macht, was der Film kaum sein kann, da der Regisseur Baz Luhrmann aussagte, dass er sich beim Film gefragt hat, wie wohl Shakespeare einen Film gemacht hätte und ihn so gestalten wollte;
Hier nachzulesen: „Our philosophy has always been that we think up what we need in our life, choose something creative that will make that life fulfilling, and then follow that road. With Romeo and Juliet what I wanted to do was to look at the way in which Shakespeare might make a movie of one of his plays if he was a director. How would he make it? We don't know a lot about Shakespeare, but we do know he would make a 'movie' movie. He was a player. We know about the Elizabethan stage and that he was playing for 3000 drunken punters, from the street sweeper to the Queen of England – and his competition was bear-baiting and prostitution. Ich gebe Dir allerdings Recht, es ist ein durchaus skurriles Werk, allerdings (nach seinem Macher) keine Parodie.

Nein, das ist keine Parodie.Es ist lediglich eine weitere Verfilmung, von denen es schon mehrere Dutzend gibt.
Eine Parodie ist eine komisch-satirische Nachahmung - also nein wenn du mich fragst.
