- nach dem Verb be
- vor Vollverben
- bei zusammengesetzten Zeiten hinter dem ersten Hilfsverb
- nach modalen Hilfsverben

Hier handelt es sich um einen split infinitive, von dem irrtümlich angenommen wird, er sei ein grammatischer Fehler!

Der split infinitive gilt als typisch AE (Star Trek beginnt mit "to boldly go where no man has gone before") und obwohl er auch in GB zu hören ist, wird immer noch stark abgelehnt, ist aber wohl nicht mehr aufzuhalten.
Die Scherzregel heißt: Writers should learn to not split infinitives.
