Hallo, kann jemand meinen Text korrigieren? Wäre sehr dankbar.
I have just read the book “Asphalt Tribe” by Morton Rhue which tells a story about 12 homeless children who are trying to make it through the winter in New York City. It ranges from abuse, drug and alcohol use, gender questions, rebellion and every aspect of why and how children can become homeless. The story is written from the perspective of one of the homeless children whose name is Maybe.
Maybe talks how they live in the cold with enduring hunger and about all the nights, which they spend with dancing followed by days full of sleep. The police and the youth welfare office try to get Maybe and her friends a better life, but they don't want to live a life with rules. They want to be free, living without rules. But Maybe at some point realizes that there is only one way out that the road provides: death. And so she begins to accept help.
In my opinion, the book provides the reader a good look into a day and the life of a homeless child, which shows all the ups and downs on the road. It a tearjerker and a really grim story which also shows an issue our youth are facing today.
I assume this book arouses your interest in reading. I am not going to give the end of the story away so you can read it on your own.
I would love to see more blog posts from you.
