im deutschen steht z.b sie werden gepflückt und dieses gepflückt (picked) ist im englischen immer die 3. form eines verbs, egal welche zeit du hast. dann ist dieses "werden" immer eine form von "be". im präsens muss man dann die präsens-form von "be" nehmen, bei unserem bsp.: they are picked (<- 3. form) in der vergangenheit :they were picked. As for the gang crime, it also exists in San Diego, but it is impossible to compare with thE ONE in Los Angeles.
