Ja, das kann durchaus ein Signalwort für diese Zeit sein.
Zum Beispiel wenn du jemandem am Nachmittag vom Vormittag desselben Tages berichtest.
This morning I got up too late. That was a real problem for me because I didn't catch the bus.....
