When I arrived at the airport in Boston on the first day, I thought that I could never live in such a crowded and large nation. But then I met a woman and she cared for me. She has become my friend. She showed me the airport and different cities. At first, we went to California where I explored different cities, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. I went to Disneyland there and it was so much fun. I also saw the Golden Gate Bridge with its fantastic view. I even saw real Native Americans on their reservations! They looked very friendly at me but I am also sorry for them that they have to live outside. I am very happy that I‘ve immigrated to the US. After exploring California, I went to New York where I have been living now since Wednesday. It‘s so cool here because when I came to New York, it was already late in the evening and because of the darkness, I went to Times Square since it is known for its bright lights. I went to a restaurant there where I ate the popular pizza slices and they tasted very delicious. After I had eaten, I was exploring Times Square while it was pretty dark and because of the bright lights of the advertisements, it was so gorgeous and I felt like it would be my home town so that I‘ve decided to stay here in New York forever. I live in an apartment in New York with my new friends as long as I don‘t have enough money to buy my own house. I work in the Empire State Building where I work as an official and I really like living here!“

Hallo, ich habe heute meine Fachabi-Prüfung in Englisch geschrieben. Bei einer Aufgabe musste man ein Bild analysieren. Es war ein Mädchen, das gestresst war und sich an den Kopf gefasst hat. Ich wollte schreiben, dass das Mädchen Kopfschmerzen, also „headache“, hat, aber ich dachte, dass man es schreibt, wie man es spricht. Also habe ich „headdick“ geschrieben. Wird das einfach nur als Grammatikfehler bewertet, oder was passiert jetzt da?

Was bedeutet es, auf Englisch zu träumen? Dass ich die Sprache irgendwie verinnerlicht habe?

Also ich könnte mir das vorstellen, da ich wirklich bisher nie mit jemand anderem irgendwie oft englisch gesprochen habe, sondern mich selbst einfach seid einer Weile stark mit der Sorache auseinander setze.

hatte das bereits mit französisch aber das war nie so vertieft…

zumal man doch sagt, es heißt was, wenn man auf der entsprechenden Sprache träumt…

I really like Germany because of the people but if I had to leave Germany, I would definitely go to Spain since it is a very interesting, warm and gorgeous country. I can‘t stand cold days, so it would be a perfect country for me. There are several beaches and unique sights such as the castle in Madrid. But nevertheless, a war or bad government would have to happen so that I would leave Germany because then it would be really bad to live in Germany as you wouldn‘t be treated well. But if I really had enough money, I would try to immigrate to Spain. I would hope that the people would be friendly to me and understand that I wouldn‘t be able to speak their language at first but I even think that I wouldn‘t be able to speak Spanish fluently even if I learned it for several years because it is a difficult language. I would also hope that the life would be great there and I would make new friends. I think I would also have a lot of problems for example missing my family and my friends and I would have problems with speaking their language. I would be afraid of talking to them since perhaps they would make fun of me or would talk to me in an unfriendly way. It would be a complete change for me and I would have to get used to new habits for example going to another school. On the other hand, it would be great to experience new adventures and explore new locations. You could go to a beach every day! So, on the one hand, I would really like to go to Spain but on the other hand, I would be really afraid of leaving my home country because of the problems that could "destroy“ my life. Hallo zusammen, ich bräuchte eine fachkundige Auskunft. Ich möchte in meinem Englischunterricht (Grundschule) einen Verkaufsdialog einführen.

Dazu habe ich bereits eine "Nachfrage" eingeführt, die sich allerdings nur auf die Einzahl bezieht (wenn nur ein Gegenstand gekauft wird: z.B. I would like to buy a doll, please. - Okay. Do you like this one?)

Die Kinder sollen nun auch mehrere Gegenstände auf einmal kaufen können, wodurch sich die Nachfrage des Verkäufers auch auf mehrere Dinge beziehen soll.

Meine Frage nun:

Ist "Do you like these?" grammatikalisch korrekt?

Mir ist auch "Do you like these ones?" in den Kopf geschossen, allerdings sehe ich hier das Problem, dass das "ones" (was den Schülern als "eins" bekannt) für diese irreführend sein könnte...

Hey, Also erstmal muss ich klarstellen dass mich diese Lehrerin hasst, ich und sie haben seit Jahren Probleme miteinander aber in den letzten Monaten ging es wirklich richtig zu. Aufjedenfall habe ich meine Englisch Klausur (Analysis) letzt geschrieben und 5 Punkte bekommen, was ich auch nicht anders erwartet hätte bei ihr. Ich hab mit ihr morgen ein Termin vereinbart um über die Klausur zu sprechen. Ich weiß aber, dass jeder meiner Punkte von ihr irgendwie verteidigt wird auf ihrer Englisch Lehrer Fachsprache, die ich nicht verstehe und dann muss ich nachgeben. Ich weiß, es ist wirklich sehr viel verlangt aber ich bitte jemanden von euch darum, falls die Lust dazu besteht, den Text sich durchzulesen und mir zu sagen ob 5 Punkte berechtigt sind und ob ihre ganzen Anmerkungen daneben auch berechtigt sind. Habt ihr Tipps wie ich herausfinden kann, ob es sich um einen Satz in der Present Perfect handelt, oder ob es sich um einen Satz in der past simple handelt?

Das es bestimmte Signalwörter gibt ist mir bewusst. Auch ist mir bewusst, dass bei einer bestimmten Zeitangabe immer die past simple verwendet wird.

There are a lot of sights in Germany since Germany consists of 16 federal states. German corner is in Koblenz and there‘s a statue of William, the first German emperor, and it is very gorgeous there. You can explore the natural location there and just relax. Another famous sight is the Cologne cathedral which is a gorgeous catholic church. In my opinion some people could be much friendlier as they sometimes stare at you or talk to you in an unfriendly way. But of course there are also very kind people."

Mein Englisch ist wirklich schlecht und auch so tue ich mich echt schwer mich auf Englisch zu verständigen. Daher möchte ich mal eure Erfahrungen wissen : Verbessert die App Dialingo wirklich das Englisch? Oder ist es einfach nur rumspielerei?

Hi! Ich brauche deine Hilfe bei den Sätzen 13 und 19. In der Schule haben wir gerade das Thema indirekte Rede und sollen diese Sätze umwandeln. Für Satz 13 bin ich mir unsicher, ob es richtig ist: "She asked me if I could tell her where the post office was" oder "She asked me to tell her where the post office was". Und bei Satz 19 frage ich mich, ob es heißen soll: "She asked me if I would mind waiting a moment" oder "She asked me to mind waiting a moment". Ich habe gehört, dass wenn Modalverben wie could, would usw. im Satz stehen, man dann "asked me to" verwenden soll. Stimmt das? In meiner Klasse sind die Meinungen dazu sehr unterschiedlich.

Beides ist ja so eine Art Bestätigungs Art. So wie im deutschen "oder?". Ich hätte right gesagt, weil man das fast überall hört. In der Schule haben wir aber gelernt, dass er halt heisst "are you?" oder "am i?" usw., was ich eigentlich noch nie gehört habe.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen den Sätzen ,, I have lived in the US“ und ,, I live in the US“? Kann man beides sagen? Denn beides ist ja immer noch so oder irre ich mich da?

Die Sprachkurse in der VHS basieren immer auf einem Übungsbuch, aus dem ca. 5% der Übungen gemeinsam (im Unterricht) bzw. als Hausaufgaben gemacht werden. Die anderen 95% des Buches muss man selbst durcharbeiten.

Ich finde, dass man in diesen 1,5 Std. pro Woche kaum was lernt. Das meiste muss man sowieso selbst zu Hause lernen.

Dazu kommt noch, dass diese Methoden äußerst fragwürdig sind. Kein Kind würde je seine Muttersprache mit solchen abstrakten Grammatik-Regeln pauken und dennoch beherrscht jedes Kind perfekt die Grammatik.

Gibt es bessere Methoden, eine Fremdsprache zu erlernen?

Ich habe leider in genau 1er Woche WH in Englisch. Beide meiner SA waren sehr knapp. Einmal 59% und einmal 57%. Wie könnte ich mein englisch soweit verbessern, dass ich es in der WH positiv schaffe?

Wie habt ihr euch denn immer auf englisch vorbereite. Ich schaue schon viele Serien auf englisch und übe auch mit dem Aufgabenpool, aber vllt gibt es noch einen besseren tipp.

The cartoon shows two parts divided into the years 1998 and 2018. In the forderground of the part of 1998 can you see a mother, who stops a boy. Next to the boy is a ball. The mother pulls hin in the house against he will. The part two of year 2018 shows the mother with the boy too. But the mother pulls the boy out of the house against he will. The Boy is holding a game console in his hands. In both parts acts the mother vigorously to get him in and out of the house. Furthermore can you see in both parts, that the boy does not seem pleased to have to finish his activity.

I think the cartoonist is intended to show, that the young generation spend variously sporty activities in the past and today. In year 1988 the boy wants to spend his free time outside playing ball games. The boy in year 2018 wants to play games inside on his game console.

I agree with the cartoonist, because playing online games are very popular at present and are the new trend under young people. A lot of teenager spend a lot of time inside and playing game console. But this have for the young generation negative consequenses. I think playing online games are very bad for the Health of young generation. Because of, the people get not enough movement and this can lead for example to overwight. On the top the youngs start to meet gaming friends instead of their real friends. Through this the youngs lost the realitiy. An another big consequense is that the childrens could become a addict. So, the young generation get not even physical but also a mental health problem.

In summary I can say that the kind of doing sport are different in the past and now. Today, the role of sport for childrens focused in playing online games.

I hadn‘t had/didn‘t have breakfast before leaving home this morning. Ich denke eher Past Perfect, da es sich ja um die Vorvergangenheit handelt, aber in den Lösungen steht Simple Past. Ist das ein Fehler?

Ich muss bis in zwei Tagen ein paar Vokabeln lernen und kann mir diese nicht richtig merken. Habt ihr vll Tipps? Oder wie lernt ihr eure Vokabeln?

Die tun so als wäre der ganze Satz unverständlich weil ich ein einziges Englisches Wort benutzt habe, was dann meistens auch noch Wörter sind die überhaupt keine Deutsche Übersetzung haben oder deren Übersetzung in dem Kontext was komplett anderes bedeutet

Hey liebe Community👋, wie ihr schon im Titel gelesen habt möchte ich in die USA auswandern. Mein großvater (Mütterlicher Seite) war US Amerikaner und ich bin somit auch zu ungefähr 20 - 30% amerikanisch. Meine Familienverhältnisse sind mäßig aber ich könnte auch gut drauf verzichten. Ich bin zurzeit 16 Jahre alt und habe vor meine Auswanderung innerhalb der nächsten 6 Jahre durchzuführen. Ich habe sprachlich sehr sehr gute Englisch Kenntnisse durch meinen Stammbaum ein wenig weil wir mit meinen Opa ausschließlich Englisch sprechen konnten bevor er verstarb 2020 und in der Schule war ich auch immer 1ser und 2er Schüler in Englisch. Organisatorisches was meiner Meinung sehr wichtig zu klären ist, ist Allerdings: Ich würde gerne irgendwo eine Art Crashkurs für eine amerikanische Arbeits- und Schulwelt machen...Ich kann zwar Englisch sprechen und alles aber Dinge wie die Fächer Chemie oder Physik auf Englisch kann ich nicht. Ich muss ja dort auch arbeiten. Ich mache zwar derzeit in Deutschland eine kfz Mechatroniker Ausbildung aber das ganze müsste dann ja auch fließend auf Englisch funktionieren. Über die amerikanische Wirtschaft bin ich schon lange aufgeklärt aber die Arbeits Kommunikation macht mir ein bisschen Sorgen. Kann man dafür in Deutschland schon lernen bei separat Englischen Ausbildungen oder so? Und könnte ich mit einer deutschen Ausbildung auch in den USA was anfangen? Würde mich echt freuen wenn mir das noch jemand sagen könnte und sonstige Tipps bevorzuge ich natürlich auch gerne. Vielen Dank für eure Antworten und noch einen schönen Tag!

Oder ist es wieder diese Regel: 'man muss die Wörter immer als Teil eines Satzes lernen und nicht als eine alleinstehende Einheit' - oder so etwas war die Empfehlung, die ich immer gelesen habe. Aber ich habe nicht alle Wörter in einem Satz gelernt und trotzdem sind die meisten haften geblieben.

Meine Freundin hat in einem Monat eine Englisch Klausur und möchte bis dahin besser Englisch sprechen können.

Es verstehen kann sie, aber sie hat Schwierigkeiten dabei, selbst schnell Sätze zu bilden und mitzureden.

Mein Tipp war, viele englische YouTube Videos zu schauen oder Netflix Serien etc. und zu versuchen, dort in Gedanken mitzureden.

Hat jemand noch andere Tipps? :D
