'This' oder 'that'?
Wann benutzt man in der englischen Sprache 'this' und wann 'that'? Wo ist der Unterscheid?

Hallo,
this, that, these und those sind Demonstrativpronomen
Singular (Einzahl)
• this = dies/e/er hier; in der Nähe, z.B. dieses (Haus hier) = this (house here)
• that = dies/e/er dort, jene/r/s; weiter entfernt, z.B. jenes (Haus dort) = that (house over there)
Plural (Mehrzahl)
• these = diese (hier; Mehrzahl, in der Nähe), z.B. diese (Häuser hier) = these (houses here)
• those = diese (dort; Mehrzahl, weit(er) entfernt), z.B. jene (Häuser dort) = those (houses over there)

Mit this kann man auch unterscheiden ob man von etwas spricht was gerade begonnen hat oder noch beginnen wird, während man that dazu benutzt, wenn Dinge bereits vorbei sind.
This is a great game. Jemand schaut gerade TV und redet über das Spiel.
That was a great game. Das Spiel ist schon vorbei.
