Hallo,

be = sein (Grundform)

Simple Past:

1.Person Singular - I was / I was not / was I ?

2.Person Singular - you were / you were not / were you?

3.Person Singular - he/she/it was / he/she/it was not was he/she/it

1.Person Plural - we were / we were not / were we?

2.Person Plural - you were / you were not / were you?

3.Person Plural - they were / they were not / were they?

was und were werden auch verwendet

- im Past Progressive/Continuous

were drückt nicht nur das Past aus, sondern ist auch Konjunktiv:

- if I were (a boy) = wenn ich ein Junge wäre

- if she were home = wenn sie zuhause wäre

= Conditional Sentence Type 2 (if-clause type 2)
